Cathy is the president and founder of McDougall Wealth Strategies and partnered with LPL Financial, which allows her the freedom to best serve her clients. McDougall Wealth Strategies provides financial advisory services shaped by the unique needs of each client, whether they are individuals, families, small business owners or high-caliber institutions. McDougall Wealth Strategies’ personal approach and robust capabilities allows for customized investment solutions and long-term, diversified financial strategies. Through LPL Financial and Financial Advocates, Cathy and McDougall Wealth Strategies provide a depth of resources and advanced technology to help our clients reach their financial goals.

Cathy graduated from the University of Michigan in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. In 2001, she earned a Master of Science in Meteorology and Physical Oceanography from the Naval Postgraduate School. Cathy proudly served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years and now is proud to continue her service to her clients.

Cathy retired from the U.S. Navy on the beautiful central coast of California in 2012.   It was there she began her career as a financial advisor with Edward Jones (EDJ). Her 7-year career at EDJ ignited her passion to connect and engage with clients and their finances.  After her son left for college, Cathy realized she missed the Pacific Northwest, where she had previously been stationed onboard the USS Carl Vinson.  She made the momentous decision to align with LPL Financial Services because it allowed her the freedom to follow her dream.

Cathy has a passion for the education of children and serving veteran’s organizations. She is an active member of the American Legion and has previously served on both revenue generating boards in her hometown, the Spreckels Community Service District and the Spreckels Memorial District. She invests her time working with local veterans and school organizations and has committed to using her first percent of gross sales to support causes ending veteran homelessness and suicide.
